Active blind spot

Hi everyone I'm new to the forum. I recently just picked up 2014 x5 35i. I have a question regarding the active blind spot. It seems like it doesn't warn when a vehicle is coming next to me. Does anyone else have this problem?

You have to make sure your blind spot detection is activated by checking it off in the settings. Push the button with the car and light ring on the center console and check off blind spot detection. Plus you have to be traveling at 30 mph or higher for the system to function.
