Question Iphone windshield mount of choice?

Looking to get a windshield mount for my iphone 5 to use for data acquisition and video via Harry's Lap Timer while tracking my m3.

What do yall use / recommend?

Ram X-grip mount works for me. Works with any phone too so no need to get a new mount if/when Apple introduces a new phone design.

I use the iPhone5 specific mount. It was only $23 to get a new holder. Rather pay that than risk my phone flying out of the window.

iphone 5 cradle + suction cup mount. Ram brand.

Not sure I would trust the universal X type thing but then I haven't tried it.

I made my own headrest mount with some PVC pipe and 2 u-bolts from home depot. I plasti-dipped it all black. Cheap, and it works great, and allows me to mount my phone behind me so that I can see what my hands are doing in the video.

I then use this:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and this:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

to hold the phone.

If you are also going to use the Harry's video feature then I don't think the RAM mount arm will be long enough to swing the phone so it faces out the windshield. I've heard that others like this: http://www.amazon.com/Rocketfish-Bic...h+window+mount

Have you used the X-grip? That thing holds the phone like a vice grip. I have to use 2 hands open the thing to get my phone in and out. Also, the grip holder is rubber so it helps stabilize the device.

Nope. Didn't want to chance it. I'd consider it now based upon your review.
