I think the message he's trying to send surrounds the idea of the NSA monitoring everyone without consent.
I like how in all his videos he never really says or does anything at all. All he does is make it obvious that he is recording.
He is trying to show that merely the site of him recording makes the people become uncomfortable, whereas when the NSA does it discreetly it is somehow ok, and no one takes immediate action to stop them like they do in the video.

If this guy is getting paid by posting these videos, he may be violating the rights of these people.

If you film someone for "commercial" use, (earning some type of income from it) you need to have written permission from those subjects in the film.

If he did it to me I'd intentionally start acting like a crazy person to either scare the shit out of him or get good laughs out of it later. I may or may not pee on him and his camera.

Shit would weird me out too but if his point is that society is ok with the NSA/surveillance cameras everywhere but if someone with a camera films them honestly then it's bad and weird, well that's a pretty good point.

You maybe right, these same people walk around and are recorded everything the only difference is the camera is mounted on a pole or building and no one does a thing about it. Put the camera in someone hands and it a completely different story and reaction.

Listen to how people react and they think he is somehow breaking some law and he is not allow to record them or the property. Last time I check if you in a public place you can record and take pictures of anything you like. However in NYC do this and you will attract lots of unwanted attention by the police.

America is really the only hold out as far as systematic gov't surveillance. People in Europe, London in particular have had security video of most public streets and areas for years now. They also don't have ready access to guns. I think we have to accept that this surveillance will grow in America, because we do have ready access to guns.

Yes, you are correct. Unless you use that video or photo to gain any income. Then you have to get their written permission.

i don't get the correlation. Europe have security cameras but no guns. We're going to get security cameras because we have guns??

Pretty funny for something so simple. Remember he would only post the bad reactions.

It's interesting to watch how many people think he's breaking the law and the resort to breaking them law themselves instead of calling the police.
