2009 e92 Lci coding>?
Hey guys,
I'm looking to install some LCI tails I just received on my 09 e92 m3 and I'm wondering what would happen if I don't get the proper coding? Will it just blink at start up or is going to trigger an error message?

All it does is triggers a code once you turn your turn signal on. Car throws a code and makes your turn signal go faster than normal. Won't hurt anything. I drove two hours to get mine coded and didn't have any issues. Some say the car will learn and not need to be coded, but I haven't heard of this often so better off finding a shop to program them.

If not coded there will be blinking/pulsing of lights on ignition on, and also at random intervals while driving. Eventually it will detect enough errors on the blinking circuit and start blinking the turn signals at warp speed. The final issue is all of the errors associated with the bulb checks. You will likely not damage the car by running it this way, although it's suggested that your coder reset a few things in the module that controls lighting so there are not incremented error counters stored.

I installed the lci's last night. The brake lights fade in and out perfectly and they don't flicker at all, only problem is the turn signals flash at a higher speed. (as if a blub is burnt out) It's my understanding that if I get my car coded for the lci's it wont affect my sc tune? Can you pm me what i'm looking at In terms of cost? Thx

I was thinking of getting it done at the dealer but my tech advised me he would have to re-flash the car back to stock in order to change the vehicle order.
