Several Year Old Production Track Tires
Tirerack right now is selling new Hankook Ventus Z214 C51, but from a 2009 production run, for about half the price of new ones (in a closeout deal). I've read mixed reviews about buying tires that old, so I'm wondering if anyone has strong opinions one way or the other (either it's fine or you are crazy). What makes it tougher is I'm not even sure I can get new Z214s right now (I guess Hankook doesn't import many) -- Tirerack has the "normal" ones on special order it appears. I'm thinking if Tirerack stored them okay, it should be fine, but wanted to get some second opinions. I need to get something decided soon, since I corded my left front on an existing set of these, and I figure the longer I wait in the season, the harder it's going to be to find rcomps (though I have a little time, my next event isn't until September).

You'll die.
No you won't. You're good as long as the tires were stored in a climate controlled environment. I'm pretty sure Tire Rack does that and takes into account potential liability issues before selling these. If you were buying them from someone on the forum and they were 4 years old...then you might die.
