Travelling to Watkins Glen from Canada.

Do any of you register with Canada Customs before you go? I'm travelling in my track car with a set of track tires and rims, a tool kit, a jack. Not much, but will customs be picky on the way back into Canada? I know that you can register before you go, but it's a kinda a pain.

A couple of us got hassled the last time coming back from WGI about all the track stuff in the car.Apparently you are supposed to get a form filled out leaving Canada by Canada customs.I called Canada Customs about this and was told if it was unserialized items you did not need to do this.

A few months ago, we took our chumpcar from Toronto to WGI. We checked with the CBSA ahead of time, and as Gearhead999s said, they only care about items with a serial number and even then, they only want you to declare high value items. We didn't bother filling out the form as a result. They might ask you for the registration of the race car or some proof of ownership, but usually that's about it. They didn't bother checking our enclosed trailer (although I doubt that rarely happens), and were more concerned about the usual cash over $10,000, alcohol or tobacco.
