Advan Racing RZ wheels, need advise....
Hi all!
This is my first post here as i have recently purchased the 2011 135i coupe. Couldnt find it here in Taiwan so i had to import it from USA. Really excited about getting this car and have been reading tons of post here on this forum. It'll take about 1 month before i receive the car..... In preparation for the cars arrival i have recently ordered Advan RZ dark gun metal 18x8 +45 (f) and 18x9 +50 (r). However, i'm still confused as to what tires i could fit on them without rubbing. A lot of post here indicate they have either had their fenders rolled or some form of suspension change. I don't plan on changing my suspension just yet as the car comes with the M-sport suspension package. I was hoping i could get some advise from some of the members here. The popular tire brands which are mention here are Yokohama Advan 08, Falken, Hankook V12 & Michelin PSS....but not sure which to go with and what size to avoid any rubbing....the roads here are in pretty bad shape and not very friendly for very lowered cars Really been inspired by reading this forum so here's a list of my first few upgrades i have planned for: From BMW performance: 1. BMW Black kidney grills 2. CF side mirrors 3. CF interior trim 4. Aluminum pedals Others: 5. JL Motoring CF front lip 6. Scopione CF rear diffuser 7. and finally the Advan Racing RZ wheels Looking forward to sharing some pics when the car arrives and discuss mods here Last edited by Dwong; 08-23-2012 at 09:59 AM.. Get star specs or rs-3s and to be safe 225/255 but you could probably get away with 235/265.

Get AD08s in 225/255 and let me know how they fit, as I am thinking of the same set up

Thanks for the advise! I hear Michelin PSS grips and holds the road way better than the yokohama's.....will still do some research and post my results when the time comes!

Hi there, I'm from Taipei too. I had my 135i imported from the US earlier this year. I'm also looking to buy a set of Advan RZ in gunmetal. May I ask you where did you order the wheels from? US or local vendors?
I have some mods in mind as well, maybe we can exchange modification plans. Join the TW 1-series facebook page if you haven't already. Hope to see you around soon. |

Be good if we can exchange info on mods...i did try joining the facebook group but it said something about being a "closed" group. Will keep you posted on my opinion of the local vendor and hopefully we can meet up one day and check out the mods! |

I have a couple of friends who owns car shops on Minzu East Road. I'm planning to have him order the wheels for me...maybe we can order together as we're looking for the same wheels. Anyways, let me know how your talk with the vendor goes.

you don't need the best street performance tires for daily...just waste of your money and they finish fast! Hankook V12 is a good choice for daily, if you want something nice, Michelin PS2 or 3 and Bridgestone RE970AS, they have good traction with good amount of life thread.

Just a quick update, Yokohama Japan dont sell the 18" Advan RZ wheels anymore...i decided to try vivid racing and it said it would take them 8-12 weeks to get them. In the end i decided on 18" BBS RS-GT wheels in diamond black Hope they will fit without too much issues!
