2004 A6 question
Does anyone know if 2003-2004 audi A6 2.7t had any problems? I am thinking of trading my car in for one and want to know about their history. Thank you.

I want something bigger, faster and turbo charged. I have not really decided yet, I wanna see what their negatives are first. I do like their style though and they are very powerful, 265hp, 280lbs of torque!

Will it still be under warranty? I would not recommend buying that car without a warranty..

Had an A4 1.8Turbo before this. And that's the experience that I had with it. Little stuff was breaking all the time. Nothing major, but a lot of stuff that without the warranty, I would have paid a lot out of pocket. And some major stuff which was covered as well. It would never leave you stranded anywhere, but it was broken or not fully functioning. At any point I could list problems that needed to be fixed that I just didn't feel like paying for, that weren't covered under warranty. I lived with them..
Explore the audi forums and look into the reliability of the turbos.. And the cars in general. It was a pain in the arse IMO.. I think a huge weight was off my shoulders when I traded it in.. Everyone's experience is different, that was mine. Great car though, extremely agile, fast, and fun to drive.. When the turbos kicked in, they really put you into the seat. The engine was peppy as hell.. When it was running well it was tons of fun to drive..

Good car.
I would recommend going to Audizine.com or audiworld.com and reading up on the 2.7T and the A6. Sadly there weren't any FAQ's for me to link ya but a easy search or post will help you out a bunch. |

Yup, go to Audiworld and start reading. There were a lot of issues of the bi-turbo engine blowing turbos pre-maturely IMO. Mine (I had a single turbo) never went, but I was surprised how many and how early they were going..
I'm just trying to give you a headsup. They're great cars but if possible pick up a certified pre-owned warranty with it. Why are you ditching the e90? Any reason you can't stick with that??

I'll pipe in here...but it's mostly hearsay.
My friend owns a (2004) B6 1.8T A4...so not the same car as you are looking at...but he has had some electrical problems. Again like Josh has said...nothing that would leave him stranded but the rear load yaw? sensor that adjusts the height adjusting HIDs crapped out. Audi's are nice cars tho. If you really need a bigger and want something with some pep...why not look at the G37 or a used G35 sedan? Those are not exactly the hottest looking cars...but IMO are about the same in the looks department as a Audi A6. They will offer pretty good performance as well... |

Man!! Lol, I think I may kinda steer away from this car, cause I was wondering why there were not many out here, and that may be the reason why, because of the pre-mature turbos. I dont wanna keep my E90 because I want a car that will be paid off by med school and something that is bigger. So i guess I will stick with my E90 until I decide on something else. Thanks Guys!

the 2.7T is a really good car. But I would highly suggest buying it from a dealer certified.
