How to lower a EDC E92 M3 (?)
Hellohello!
I'd really like to get feedback on how to get my car lower. I like to keep the sense of "originality" when it comes to the driving experience, but I also like the car to be a little bit more down to earth. I heard that a full set of shocks and springs (kw v3, bilstein pss10), would make the car racing prepped, and I dont want that. I still want the EDC function. ...so therefore. (1) I need to just change the springs? (2) In that case, WHAT springs should I buy? (Ideal would be to lower the car about 2-4 cm, maybe). Any input, guys? Best regards - Jon from Norway.

I have EDC on mine and I went with H&Rs Sport springs. I have not had any problems at all, I have a little over 19k miles. You can see pics. in my profile, if you want see what it'll look like. Just make sure that you align the car after you install the lowered springs. Hope that this helped.

Get the KWs springs for EDC cars. These are the best option for those that want to keep the factory EDC

oh no. This made me really confused
Why do I have to, and what do it "give me" to buy the KW springs for adjustability, INSTEAD of the regular springs from eibach or h&r ? The price difference is of course telling me that I would have "more for the money", but why? I mean, Isnt it enough to just change the springs to lower the car? wouldnt the edc work exactly the same as before, but only the car is lower? I really appreciate all the answers. -jon edit: Be my guest to post links to webshops for alternatives. (preferably "bigger" firms that also will ship to norway )

Most are happy with Eibach and B&G, most opinions on the H&Rs are being too stiff compared to stock springs.

Ok, thanks. I would love to hear from other people regarding other springs. How low is the eibach and h&r?
Anyone got pictures?

I like the drop on Eibachs.
The ride with the additional e36 bump stops and shaved mounts which retain oem travel is almost the same as standard. |

We highly recommend the KW S/O kit as it retains the OEM EDC functionality, yet still offers the height adjustability of basic coilovers. Here's a quick picture of the KW S/O kit installed, maxed out lowering, fully settled in. Alternatively, I would look into B&G S2s or Eibach Prokits for springs. Feel free to contact me directly if you'd like some pricing, or more information. |
