UK BADGE ON 1M? 1 out of 450??

Hey guys,

I received my 1M about 4 weeks ago and I gotta say I absolutely love it. It is the best BMW I've ever driven. I'm truly happy with my purchase.

I wanted to ask, reading the TOP GEAR PDF I noticed there is an insert shot that says 1 out of 450. Where is that located? Do the UK cars come with that? I don't think the US cars come with that. I wonder why...

Any insights?

It's something BMW UK's marketing department came up with to add a bit of exclusivity. In France they did the same thing (I think it was 1 of 100).

Don't believe any other countries did a limited edition plate. It's a bit of a risk because BMW has always been vague on total production numbers . . . wonder what BMW UK will do if BMW offer them 20 more cars!!

China has a few of these limited production vehicles with the M3. For example the Carbon Fiber Edition M3 has a plaque that says ONE of 111.

The dealer has to order the badge separately although it is a no cost item to them. They then tend to stick the badge to the ash tray lid. I have asked my dealer not to stick the badge to anything and to just give it to me with the car so I can decide what to do with it.

BTW, if you haven't seen the pics to my car yet, here they are. All that its missing is a beautiful badge that says 1 out of SOMETHING!!

I tried to get this going for us US customers, maybe with more owners actually getting their cars there might be a renewed interest? As soon as production is complete I'm sure a ONE of 'FILL IN THE BLANK' would be of interest to a few....
