Any Australians On Here?

I've been told that we can only expect 100 and that all are accounted for, I know that it hasn't been officially launched yet but am I the only one here?

Correct, I scored the last one with a deposit last week.

We are quite active in the Australian forum. My suggestion is if you are keen, just ring around to see who is still happy to take a deposit. There is always bound to be drop offs, or people having two deposits etc.

That's what I did. I found a Melbourne dealer and the Gold Coast one had an allocation each. The Melbourne one told me that I could expect delivery in June. Don't know if there was any truth in that though. Have any been spotted on Aussie roads?

I called BMW and was given a contact in a Queensland dealer that had one allocation remaining. Truth is there might be one or two left around, but not many. If you find a dealer willing to take an order go with it.

Hey sparoz; I see you chose VO. Have you been able to see it live? I'm still torn and need to lock in colour soon.

First two Australian 1Ms are being delivered to their owners tomorrow.

There is a pretty epic Australian thread (1,499 posts in the thread so far) about the 1M here:

There is only one Gold Coast dealer. They are only getting three in their allocation for the year and they are all sold with a waiting list. At least that's what I've been told. That's not to say they are not still taking orders.

Cypha, June delivery doesn't make much sense unless someone dropped an order (and most dealers have a long waiting list). The order I placed last week is July build, nov delivery...

Not yet, but I am driving a BSM, and wanting a change. I won't get a black car for a while - just way too hot. I really like the AW, but my thought is - this is a special car and it requires a special colour.

Steve Brown has got the first delivery - check out on the Australian Forum.

Thanks Sparoz; dealer called today, I need to lock in colour by close of business thursday...hmm - I totally agree with you about the car / colour being special, but some of the comments about VO in dim lighting being "drab" or "pastel" are a tad worrying. Reality is, I suppose, drive it once and it won't matter what colour it is...

My reasoning for VO is because...err, I didn't want a AW 1 series again (my 135i was AW) and black is too hard to maintain. I have always wanted an inka orange BMW, and while this isn't quite it, it is still orange lol.

Unless you live in Perth, or were on the gold coast today, I don't think anyone has spotted a 1M in real life on the road!
