1M Allocations

Heard from an insider some South FL dealers are getting 11 cars allocated for the year per dealership. Can anyone confirm?

Just need to know since I have a deposit for a 1M but no order or production number yet. Deposit made last week. Dont want to wait for a car that may never be built.

I contacted a DFW area dealer last week and was told they have been getting 1 allocation per month and expect that to continue. They have 7 on the waiting list and 1 car delivered and one on the way, but are not taking any more on the waiting list.

What about the other dealers you contacted with Allocations, per your other post? Maybe they could help out the OP?

Remember - talk...and rumors...are cheap. See what happens if they have any on the lot in the future.

I wouldn't be surprised if Braman gets a lot, IIRC they are in the top-3 biggest dealerships in terms of sales. In fact, in the first iteration of 1///M deliveries, they along with BMW of Beverly Hills got the most cars. 11 sounds like a lot, but maybe production in the plant will crank up towards Q3/Q4.

If don't mind sharing what I have found, but it simply is a matter of taking the time to make the calls. I didn't have the time myself until last week but finally I called about 15-20 dealers one day last week. That's not many at all since about 45-50 were within 500 miles of me. . Several people recently that have gotten allocations have called 30-40 dealers and found an allocation. Finding one that will allow for Euro Delivery is even tougher.

Thanks for the input guys. This post is not intended for anyone to do the legwork for me. I already have contacted all dealers in my area. The issue is that there is no clear answer regarding allocations in South FL.

Perhaps you can try something a bit more 'unconventional', if you are willing to travel a bit for the car. The biggest dealers naturally serve the biggest markets, where naturally there is the biggest interest.

If I were in your shoes I would start calling the smallest dealers out of state (but relatively near nonetheless so it does not present a logistical nightmare). They are assured one allocation at a minimum. Who knows, maybe a tiny BMW dealer in say Louisiana has a car coming, but no local interest. Sometimes it is good to knock on a few doors/shake some trees where you might expect the least chance of success. It's about luck at the end of the day, so give it a try.

In my case, it proves to be true. I live in jacksonville but found an allocation in Savannah, GA dealership.

SAGE advise this is. Don't ignore the big box dealers.. you can usually email a CA and get a quick response since so many have lines of people waiting. The small dealers are a pain because you nearly end up educating the CA about the car and the allocation process (for those whom the sales manager has not shared this info with sales employees), but more than likely the mid sized dealer far from you will be where you find success. From my calls, it seems that the smallish dealers in the interior of the country seem to be getting their allocations the latest.

was about to say, the smaller dealers will be less likely to charge a markup due to less demand in their area....

I have deposits at my local dealer (7th in line/not holding my breath), and I am first at a smaller dealer out of the bay area (supposedly to be a June production). I imagine a fair number of folks have multiple deposits and that slots will free up as the production numbers get assigned.

I was in LA the last couple days and called BH BMW and they did not have one in. I stopped by Santa Monica BMW and the sales associate told me that the first ones would be coming in around December. I told him a number of LA cars had been delivered and he said I was nuts. I didn't waste further time there.
