Coilovers fix wheel hop?

Every time it rains and I give it some gunk at a low speed, I get horrendous axle tramp. I already have some lighter wheels on order to help with this but I have a feeling it won't be a panacea. Is it possible that coilovers could fix this problem?

What kind of tires do you have?

I've seen different dampers help wheel hop, but often times, it is caused by suspension arm bushing flex. Sometimes you can cure it by using a stiffer bushing.

I haven't had a lot of axle tramp in my car, though. I would inspect all the bushings in the rear suspension to make sure none have failed.

Specifically, check the wishbones, the steering arms, and the trailing arms at both ends.

I have written a technical letter to BMW actually regarding their choice with the PS2 as it creates a lot of wheel hop in the M3.

There is a rather long story behind this and will post about it sooner than later, but my advice to you is, get rid of the PS2 tires, it's not your bushings that are the problem in this car.

Many cars that I have built and driven equipped with these tires have had major wheel hop.
