HP Autowerks Shop Car Comparisons: 135i vs 1M

Here are a few photos of the shop 135i and 1M. I have to say that the 135i with DCT along with all the mods we have done (TCK D/A's, full M suspension conversion, quaife, etc), it is definitely the better car of the two as they sit now.

We are excited to start modifying the 1M and the car is currently being fitted with Stoptech Trophy Brakes front and rear today. I will post up pictures once we have some worth showing.

If anyone is interested, the 135i is available for lease assuption, PM me.

Definitely an awesome 135i. But imagine a 1M with 18k in upgrades! Or 11k with you take out the difference in msrp between 1m and 135i

It's hard to beat Koni Double Adjustable with proper spring rates and camber plates with oem struts and shocks.

For your 135i manual, you will need a complete Quaife final drive as your ring gear is welded, $2588 with exchange.

Is there a difference in stopping distance between the Stoptechs and OEM brakes?

I will go out on a limb and assume it would take over 15-20 hard laps on a small course to actually start feeling any difference in brake fade......as for stopping distance ,probably 8-10 feet from 100 mph...if that

sorrry!!! thought we were comparing 1m vs stoptech!!

The limiting factor for stopping distances is typically the tires, not the calipers.

BBKs (big brake kits) offer greater resistance to fade and, often, allow greater brake modulation by the driver. They also make it easier to change pads quickly.

Actually, a couple of laps on a track that demands lots of braking will reveal the weakness in the brakes if any.
