1M video review by AutoNetwork (U.S. Press Day).
Don't know who Roosevelt is but he shared a ton of information and video about the 1M from the press event.
Enjoy! All three colors on video. Some solid information about the 1M here. Last edited by TunedM2C; 05-17-2011 at 06:39 PM.. |

^ The 800 number is interesting but could that be for 2011 only with more to folow in 2012?
Also, the second video mentions the N54 has new pistons, rings and of course software. |

After seeing the vid of the rears of all three colors, VO is by far the best color IMO. AW, too much contrast between the base color and the black pieces on the car, BSM not enough contrast, VO just right.
VO seems to accentuate the bulkiness of the 1M. |

Yep, it's the diff and I too am worried about it getting whacked especially after a slight suspension drop. I'm sure they did their R&D though.

Despite the appearance, the exhaust is still likely the lowest point..

I'm not sure that's true. That's not a live axle. If the tires move up relative to the body, the center section of that diff will be moved closer to the ground just like the body, while each half axle angles up a little from the diff to the tire, wouldn't it?

Well, you can forget all that. The new car is fitted with a turbocharged straight six. Turbocharging? In an M car? That’s like putting gravy on an ice cream. - Jeremy Clarkson, discussing the S65 and then S55 M3 engines. |
