KW Sleeve-Over Kit Feedback on the Track?
Hi all. I am having the KW Adjustable Spring Sleeve-Over Kit installed on my E90. I am switching from just using Dinan springs to hopefully get improved handling at the track. Does anyone have experience with this kit at the track? Does anyone have a suggestion on the height settings? My car will be used both on the track and as a daily driver. However, I am not concerned with having a stiff ride.

If you are selling an E90 non-EDC Dinan Stage 1...let me know!

I guess you are right. How do you like your GC setup? How did you determine the correct ride height to stay within the manufacturer parameters (i.e. within the component's design)?

^ what makes you unhappy with your Dinan stage 1 at the track? Thought about just adding sway bars?
For hard core track enthusiasts, sway bars are not the right choice, because you end up raising wheel rates and sometimes having trouble putting power down. However for casual track use, I find that sway bars do a great job of keeping the car off the bump stops, which gives you more control and a more progressive breakaway. I really don't think that going with stiffer springs on the KWs without increasing the damper rate is going to make sense on the track, and I worry about the tiny little bump stops that the KW sleeves come with. The stock bump stops are meant to be used and are fairly progressive, but the KW ones are so much shorter that you are either going to crash into the really hard and eventually destroy your expensive EDC shocks (stops aren't stiff enough) or you are going to hit them hard and lose control at the limit, (stops are stiff enough but less progressive than stock) Just my 2c... I run the Dinan stage 1 and just bought the parts for stage 3. I used to run moton clubsports on my E46 M3 and Penske shocks on my old s2000, so I'm used to track suspensions, but this car is not my track car, so I went for a street oriented setup. I really would love to ride in a car with the KW sleeves, though. But, given what I know of the front suspension, I can't imagine them working well, unless you shave the upper guide supports. |

If you are looking to track the car, I would not go with the KW set up. We sell KW but it is not what I would recommend. It is a decent street setup because it runs progressive springs for comfort but will show its deficiencies on the track.
I would suggest a set of AST coilovers. We have had great success with these on the track and the monotube valving on these handle the spring rates amazingly. It still rides well on the street and is a much better damper. We let you spec your spring rates and can make suggestions based on your driving style.
