BBK recommendation for OEM 18" wheels
I am using the OEM 18" wheels for winter tires but soon will need a BBK for the front.
The problem is I tried to rebuild the front calipers after melting dustboots and basically all plastic parts nearby, but I could not reapply the new dustboots. Neither could the local BMW dealer. They claimed it is applied with a special tool. Yesterday I changed back to the summer tire setup and tried the dust boots again. No luck. I am concerned this may hurt the calipers one way or other. The car will not likely be tracked anymore. So I am looking for a cheaper BBK kit for the front, which would fit in the OEM 18" wheels. Thanks |

The AP kit should clear with 10mm spacer. I ran mine with 12mm spacer and it had a lot of room under OEM 18s.

The StopTech 380 will not work. I have that setup on the front, and the ZCP 19” wheels just barely clear. The 355 should work fine, although if you’re not going have it on track, sounds like you’re beyond the need for it.

The reason I consider this is the fear that the OEM calipers (rebuilt by me) without dust boots will need replacement in the near future.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

1. Like FrenchBoy I have the 355mm ST kit and it clears the OEM 18's obviously.
2. I am at least one of the ones selling my OEM brakes. PM me if you are interested.

If you want to spend less and are looking for a good track setup that's easy to deal with, get the smaller StopTech setup. It's bulletproof and easy to change pads. |

I have an issue when vendors and/or suppliers say that their system is superior to others when they have shown absolutely no objective data to support their claim. To me, all these system perform equally well until I see real comparison data. |

I haven't tested them at the track yet, but this is what the Turner Motorsport M3s run on their Speed Challenge cars. So I am assuming they're okay for my track use ;-)
First track day is 4/21. I can report then.

Looks good! I have 355mm 6 piston Brembo BBK on my 323i now (see my sig)... when I get my E92 M3 I would like to transfer the BBK to my M3 (I'll be using the 18" M3 wheels like yours)... any idea whether 6 piston calipers can clear the wheels?
With your 4 piston calipers did your 18" wheels barely clear them or was there plenty of room to clear them? Navin

As for the StopTech 4-pot, there is plenty of clearance with the 18"s. Good luck.
