Painted BMW Perf. CF Spoiler?
I saw the pics from the M3 GTS thread and the GT4 (?) race car has what appears to be a painted BMW Performance CF spoiler on the trunklid (not the huge wing).
Here is the thread and I am referring to the white car with the Ekris sponsor stickers on it: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=473831 Has anyone else done this (painted it) yet? I actually like and want one painted to match body color. Is painting the finished spoiler easy for any competent body shop to do? Any special concerns or anything to watch out for? I was planning on PM'ing IND as well to see if they could paint and ship one to me. I recall reading some threads about painting the front CF splitter in the past, too, but didn't see any pics of any final products. |

Looks like the normal painted stock M3 spoiler to me. The CF Performance Spoiler protrudes out more.

It's a performance spoiler, notice the middle back part protrudes inwards. I just picked up a performance spoiler myself, debating to paint or not, the factory weave is just soo pretty to paint =)***

I was thinking of doing this as well. Right now I left it as is in CF. I'm thinking about ordering a replica spoiler and having that painted. Looks pretty good in the link that was posted. I think painted will look much cleaner.

Opps, I thought OP was referring to the orange GTS. In that case, yes, the white GT3 car has a painted perf spoiler. Looks nice painted.

The CF weave on the spoiler is beautiful, and if you don't have a sunroof, it compliments the weave on your roof very nicely. I would leave it unpainted.

Yes, I bet the weave is awesome. But on AW, the spoiler does stand out a lot more than on other colors... That is why I'm considering a painted one. It is a shame to cover the CF, though.

If your AW, id say paint it. I just had LTBMW paint my brother in law's CF spoiler for his new 550i m-sport painted because it stood out way too much.....and I am obsessed with CF!
