M Car allocations

Has anyone got any insights on how the M car allocation works for the dealers?

Steve as far as I understand it, each dealership gets a monthly allocation (I think it is 1 per month), that allocation can be bartered (or maybe even taken) between dealerships.

My M was taken from a dealership in Melbourne Bizarrely enough, I was told this from the dealership in Melbourne - because I was at the time helping a (now ex) girlfriend buy an x5.
