Vinyl it or paint it. I think those are your only 2 options since the dealer doesn't offer the E93 trim in black.

Just vinyl it, you can DIY or get any place that does vinyl car wraps to do it for you.

You can purchase the shadowline trim for the convertible, but it costs nearly $2000. So this is not really a viable option.

I have seen that they sell vinyl tape at BavAuto, but wonder if anyone has tried that? Seems like it might be too cheap looking? Also, what happens with the tape in the hot sun? I live in Florida and would think the tape would bond permanently and never come off.

I am trying to have my window trim also black out, I bought a couple of rolls at www.bmwshadowline.com but I am not sure if I should do it by myself, a forum member referred me to a professional installer in my area, if their fee is not too high (up to $200) I will pay for it otherwise I will try to do it by myself
I paid $20 per roll, I guess you need 2 rolls for a convertible M3 trim

update: I just got contacted by the installer and he will charge me $200 for this job, if you want I can sell you these 2 rolls for the same price I paid for them, attached a picture of the 2 rolls, I just checked the invoices and I paid $54.30 for the 2 rolls + 1 squeegee including shipping, I can sell the package for $50 including shipping

They do have a gloss black, but it is insanely expensive.

Does anyone know how difficult it is to remove the upper trim (the one in three parts that folds). I need to replace the center section of the passenger. Any idea where I can find a replacement aluminum piece?

I have alot of experience with wrapping vinyl trims for our BMWs and all I can say is the rear part on the 3 part fold is a PITA....here's a pic of the E93 I worked on
