Official: BlackJack Thread!
Its too addicting. Been hitting the casino a lot lately and I enjoy. I thought I would start a thread for some members to talk about it and some experiences they encountered.
Also hints and tips would be helpful to others

Always split aces and eights... walk away from tables where people won't hit on 15/16 vs a 10. Take advantage of every opportunity you can do double down or split (these are the only real opportunities to win money at a BJ table). Walk away from a hot dealer, or pay the consequences.

When considering what next action to do, assume a 10 (10, J, Q, K) is going to come up. That said...
Always double down on 11 When choosing to hit or stay on a 12-16, take what the dealer is showing into consideration. If they are showing a 3, 4, 5, or 6, chances are they are going to bust, so don't be afraid to stay. |

Avoid any table that pays 6/5, its a fucking ripoff.
Never try to win your money back. Know when to quit. I always went by "what the book says," until I found this: http://wizardofodds.com/blackjack His method worked out quite well for me; the most I've won in blackjack was just over $2500. Not much in comparison to some other people I know, but when you turn $100 into $2500, you can't complain. If you're really good with numbers and have a pretty good memory, you can learn card counting. The concept is simple in nature, but you have to be able to apply it to the amount of decks being used at the table. Odds are, you won't be as successful as the kids on the MIT team from the 80s-90s, but you could boost your odds of winning. Oh, and you don't necessarily have to bet big to win big. Patience can also win you a good amount, playing several different tables in a single outing can help as well. Know when to quit.

Well, when the dealer shows 10 doesn it mean their card facing is a "10" also? so we think the dealer has "20"
I always double down on 11's and sometime 10's if I feel it coming lol... but where I get hurt is when I get a 12-16, hard hand. And I sometimes bust. The dealer is showing 7,8,9,10..when this happens... FML.

When they have a 10 showing, yes, play like the dealer is going to have a 20 and try to at least get to 17. |

i had 10 and 2 and the dealer was showing 10. And I hit, and got another 10 (22) and busted. Fuckn pisses me off. about a month ago, an asian lady won 220,000$ at blackjack at Morango, where I always go play. She playing with 2,000$ hands. She got a pair of 8's, she split them. which her bet became 4,000$, then she hit, and got a 3 on one 8 split, so she doubled down to 8,000$ and she hit again and got a 10, blackjack. and she did the same for the other pair of 8. she won 16,000+ on that hand. Most amazing thing I have seen. Not to mention dealer had an 19.

Which casino have you been going to in California? I hope it is not Hollywood Park. This is the most trash, ghetto casino in the universe.
