I used to swear by cloth. Then my last few cars were leather. Went and sat in a cloth car again and thought I hadn't been in my right mind to have liked the stuff.
I'm not against a cloth option, but I'll pass every time leather is available. |

Cloth and leatherette definitely are the best materials if longevity and good looks over the entire lifecycle are key.
But BMW has to keep a certain level of "luxury" here so that they can get more folks to depart with their money. |

I just got back from a BMW car show in Wuerzburg today. I saw several cars that had nice interiors like this. Most were custom jobs. I will pst some pics soon.
Why not just have a local upholstery shop do this for you? Anything is possible given enough time AND money. |

I prefer my interiors simple ... and black. I got the black leather interior and Light Burl Walnut trim and to be candid, the light reflecting off that stuff and the other shiny plastics is a bit much in direct sunlight. Be nice to have some non-reflective CF or other material as an option for trim. I can understand why people like the cloth inserts, but I don't; the M-sport seats in leather hold me well enough.
As to this choice of an interior being available as an option, sure why not. pge |

I'd love a cloth or alcantara option.

I love the cloth seats on the euro 1ers. On a 5-series, probably not. But on a 1er, I'd seriously consider it, especially in two-tones.

Cloth is certainly the cheap option in the UK, I would say 9/10 125i / 135i's in the UK come with leather.
Cheaper models tend to have cloth. We don't get the leatherette option in the UK which is dissappointing.
