Unhappy Flickering Lux H8

Has anyone else experienced flickering of their Lux H8? The car is a 2008, completely stock, and this only happens at start up with the light switch off. No CEL and it will stop flickering after awhile. I have checked the connectors 3 times. Although its not a big problem, it is slightly disappointing. This morning I was at the gas station and after filling up and starting the car I could see everyone looking at me and I knew why.

Try to put the original H8 light bulbs back on and see if it persist. If it quits, then you know it is the LEDs, if it doesn't, then it is something in the connection or harness. Try the simple things first. Just my 0.02cents.

What's going on is the computer doing a self check by sending pulses to the bulbs to make sure if they're present or not. LEDs require little to no power to operate and pick up and on these signals, hence why they flash/flicker.

Sounds logical since the ECU notifies us of non working lights. I'm just surprised no one else mentioned it. Thanks for the explanation. I can see that the "angels" are slightly whiter than the headlight bulb. My only criticism of this product is the ability to grip the heat sink and turn it. I read about wrapping it with tape, but a couple of convex knobs would make it easier to install.

How would you fix that? I have LEDs angel eyes and they do not flick at all.

thank you Mike and E92-Lighting

Certain cars will flicker on startup, it depends on the year build of your car. Some people have the flickering and others dont. Either way though, there is nothing wrong with your car or the lights.

i think its normal. cause when you unlock your doors or start up the cars i think the lights normally are dim and get brighter, but LED's cant dim they are always putting out the same amount of light. so as the car trys to brighten you get the flickering effect. I could be wrong but I think thats what it is. Hope this helps.

Its probably due to the your headlamp switch being set to AUTO, which uses a different bulbcheck sequence than OFF - verifying bulb integrity.

Since LEDs require less power than halogen, the LEDs can pick up these voltage pulses easier.

If you have your daytime running lights set to "on" it will not flicker either because the LED will be on as soon as you start the car.

I keep my headlight switch to auto all the time and get no flickering. Car is an 08' and LUX's are new 6500k versions.
