Le Mans Blue, Lemon interior - dealer says impossible...

Hi,

I have ordered a Le Mans blue 125 in August. The dealer said they tried very, very hard to get it with a lemon interior but BMW Germany said no, no and no! (they apparently tried 3 times)

Is this correct?

I have noticed a LMB car with lemon interior at the following link: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...=225056&page=2

Was this combination available in 2008?

Many thanks!!!

the first two cars in this thread have lemon.

When i ordered mine they said that it was not an option on the order screen (this is also not and option in the booklets) but it was possible... i originally ordered it but later changed my mind to alaska grey because i did not like the mixed black and lemon on the inside.... maybe its not an option for MY2010 ??

When BMW originally launched the 135i at the Melbourne motor show in 08 the display car was LMB/Lemon...

May I ask when you ordered your car and from which dealer in Melbourne? Mine was ordered n 8/09... from the only dealer b/w Ballarat and Perth (ie Adelaide, a hamlet posing as a city).

Thanks

thats my pic at the top with lemans blue and lemon interior.

whats weird is the lemans blue isn't in the brochure or was a colour to show you at the dealership, i said the other blues sucked and he then got me a blue from the 3 or 5 series range which was Lemans blue.

I ordered mine october 08, but got it may 1st .. so it was available in 08 and when it was built in probably march 09.

Yeah, my wife and I really like LMB and Coral Red (I know, I know, we probably have bad taste) but I could live with the lemon.

Unfortunately, could only have the black or grey; have ordered the black very reluctantly; so we are paying a shit load of money for something that's not even 3rd choice...

May never buy BMW again... cars are technically great but interior colours and trim are so boring; really lacking inspiration & creativity!!!

Thanks goodness after 5 years' depreciation, I will only have departed with 20 to 25 K of hard earnt dough PLUS I will get an upholsterer to customise the seats...

Then I am going to send back the shit black leather to Germany... Hehehe!

Sorry for ranting

P/S I am going to get the creamy leather like they have on the 3-series, orange head rests and seat bottoms (now's that's tasteful, conservative, common and boring); and oh yeah, pull out the rear stupid centre console and send that back to germany as well. Pity the 1-series is a f......g good car; very similar to my modified Honda 88 Prelude (now worth 3K) but with modern safety features.

Also, try not to live in a hamlet with only one BMW dealer, particularly when they have doubled their sales target recently, thanks to the 150% rebate.

For me the driving experience is most important. Sure I had a preference for a certain colour combo, but at the end of the day it's the bang for the buck that I was after and I would have settled for any colour combo should mine have been n/a.

Actually it is only limited by your wallet. BMW Individual has a GREAT range, you can even have alcantara headliner on your car if your wallet can handle it as we did today on a X5M order for a friend.

Dealer said neither coral red or lemon were possible, even with BMW Individual.

For the record, I offered 10K and was prepared to go higher... In principal I was happy to go up to 12k but I would rather support a local upholsterer rather than a rich and seemingly inflexible multi-national.

I even asked if we could buy the damned car as well as another set of front seats in lemon or red, and matching rear headsets!!!

The car has sunroof, M-sport package, 261 alloys, manual transmission, electric seats, xenon heads, professional sound, heated seats, etc... it is probably not a run-of-the-mill production... so we were pretty surprised when germany apparently said no, particularly as lemon (but may be not red) is available as a RHD overseas.

Still not happy with parting with so much cash for a crap boring choice; honestly I almost bought another Saab and nearly even considered a 325 (or is it 323, can't remember) coupe but we don't need another medium sized car.

A luxury car should come with choice particularly as I am willing to pay for it, rather being an angry, belligerent and reluctant BMW customer.

Hehehe...

Champaign (individual colour) looks much better than Lemon as it is a better quality leather on the individuals. Just get that. I think it cost $6k.

Your dealer is "full of it".

I looked at this combo (not for very long becaue Iwasn't brave enough, and didn't think it'd stay clean), and they were prepared to order it - no issue, and no extra charge.

Living in Adelaide shouldn't be a problem. Lots of folks buy out of state. If your cars not been started (to build), you may be able to cancel the order and get it via a dealer who wants your money.

I wouldnt' stand for it - if they won't budge, call BMW Australia and get them involved. They usually work hard to keep customers happy. Particularly new customers. They may even be prepared to build you a new car regrdless. They can always sell a 135 with LMB with black. It's not that unusual that they'd have to carry it for long.

As Way said, through the "individual program", you can get just about anything you want. It's just a matter of price and time.

The BMW Individual program is not available on the 1 Series.

Yeah, will contact BMW Australia. Should have asked the forum in August... may be too late I'm afraid!

If do-able champagne looks great and well worth the 6K. Or else its the upholsterer and the orange hehehe (crikes I have bad taste). Fortunately re-sale value is not crucial as my wife and I have kept our cars for 17 and 21 years respectively.

Many thanks and sorry for rant/rave/prattle... wife's overseas and not available to clam me down.

BTW, we bought a new Saab 93 using 3 phone calls to Paramatta over a 5 day period last year... an altogether more pleasant experience than shopping at BMW locally. 93s are vastly underrated but the big boost single scroll turbo does provide lots of lag (oh so different the Honda with modified exhaust) and yep, aftermarket anti-sway bars are eagerly anticipated for the Saab-patented body roll. I hate body roll...

I love the look of contrasting interior colors - originally I was going to get Alaska interior, but with the number of K's I do I was worried about how the light colors would get dirty.

Is the BMW Individual program avail on any car? For example on the Z4 I like the pure white leather but dislike the dark woodgrain trim it comes with, favouring the aluminium trim instead. Could BMW customise this for a fee?

I wonder how much that Frosted Semi-matt paint is on the M6...

Alex, yes you can do an individual Z4. As for the M6, not sure if you can do that on any other car, but if you want, there is going to be ONE M6 Competition in that colour in Australia. Talk about exclusive!
