It's because of AT&T. I can send MMS here in Canada - ever since 3.0 came out.

+1 it's not because of the lack of iPhone features, but the surplus of FAIL in the AT&T network.

MMS is working already I can send and receive video and pictures

all you have to have is the tweaked carrier bundle. it's been working fully for the last 24 hours.

that does not work for me on 3GS. worked fine on my old 3G, but i haven't been able to get it to work after upgrading my phone....

yes I have the 3GS I put a updated carrier bundle about 2 months ago and it didn't work. Now AT&T has fixed their end and it is fully functional I just sent a 2 min video and worked.

Just updated my Iphone couple of days ago... I was wondering WHEN will they do this. I seriously HATE receiving pictures because I always had to go to a site to retrieve them. And to make it WORST they give you these retarded user name and password... Okay it's AT&T but still... I have so much rant about iphones haha and yet I still love it

Poor fucking excuse. I'm on AT&T with a Blackberry and I send MMS all the time. AT&T is capable.

My previous phone, Blackjack, was capable of sending and receiving MMS for awhile too. Very sad but I'm finally happy that the iPhone is capable now.

It's a known fact that iPhone users use data+media much more than any other mobile device. As much as I hate AT&T, I can totally understand why they wanted to make sure their network was ready for MMS on the iPhone. From what I've heard, MMS goes over a different data stream than the 3G data. If iPhone users were to send MMS messages at the same caliber that they use the 3G network, I could see there being issues. With that said, they should have planned for this a long time ago.

don't want to touch anything right now. it works with .5.0 carrier update, so im gonna leave it alone...

im still running jailbroken 3.0.1. Mostly because there is no jailbreak for 3G[s]/3.1, but also because the amount of issues people have been reporting with 3.1

Downside of this is that a bunch of app updates that come out right now support nothing but 3.1. I don't have many installed, but already ran into 3 version mismatch problems trying to install updates...

Well, I'm reluctant to update to the OS3.1 and Carrier5.0. I think that is what crashed my iPhone earlier this month and required a replacement after 2 short months. I'm waiting for them to fix the bugs in OS3.1, then I'll update.

I could really give a rats ass about MMS really. But then again, I'm "old" and don't really see the point of having a full conversation via SMS or MMS that couldn't be done faster and easier by actually TALKING to the other person. Short and quick updates? Sure. But anything that takes more than 1 or 2 replies, not so much...

I know, arcane concept and in the realm of the dinosaurs....
