I put the runflats back on and I hate them even more :)
I haven't made a decision on summers so I ditched my winters for the dreaded runflats, and I hate my car again, lol. My love affair was so passionate, and now I'm grum-py.
I feel like I'm being bitch slapped by every single undulation in the road, every crack and pop registers like a bad migraine. Accelerating in frustration just makes it worse. Why BMW included these as the default tires is beyond me. Anyone want to buy mine--cheap? |

I hate them even more this morning. I feel like I'm driving an entirely different car. Back to TireRack I go. |

It does feel like a different car but for me it's not entirely negative vs winters.
I picked up my car at the end of Oct and had the dealership put on my winter 17" Superturismo's and Bridgestone LM-25's (non-rft) during prep. Last week was the first time I had driven on the stock setup. I haven't had much of an issue with ride as our roads are mostly good here. There's a bit of "crash" on some hard breaks in the road but I do appreciate the lack of tread wiggle and better grip. The car feels more direct and responsive overall. That being said, I won't purchase any more summer RFT's. |

have to agree - the runflats are junk. but once you get a couple hundred kms on them it's tolerable. especially with Toronto's roads.. it's like driving in a blender

I'm going to start destroying mine next weekend at the Mosport DDT. If all goes to plan, new tires by the official start of summer. These RFTs make the BMW ride worse than the Miata with the shocks at full stiff.

Let's have a get together where we blow out the runflats! Can anyone recommend some cheap summers downtown T.O or will I be forced to use the ever reliable and fantastic TireRack? |

I went through two sets of "run louds" on my 06 E90 325 before I gave up and went to a set of Goodyear F1 GSD3's. My second set of runflats only lasted 14k before they were so cupped and feathered I couldn't take it anymore. I did buy from the Tirerack because no one could even come close to the price.
I just picked up my 128 last week. It has the 18's as well and they will be coming off next year and used to put back on when I trade it in. Found out that BMW gets all out of shape if there are not runflats on the car when you trade. And yes, my Blizzak LM-22's were quieter than my runflats too. |
