49k + ttr for a new fully loaded 08 ISF (msrp 61.5)
would anyone switch?
i think i can even get 48k if i push a little more. I think i fully loaded 335i is a little bit more.

Possibly. Thats a tough one. I'd probably do it. The 335 is pretty sweet though. Maybe you should just mod with the money you'll save.

No. I'd take a C63 in a heart beat though for that price. Lexus can't make proper sports cars to save the life of them.

No, it does not. 8 speed auto is your only choice.

IMO, the IS-F is really ugly, but if it floats your boat, then do it.
Just take it for a test drive and see if it makes any magic. Well i suppose that set-up does lend it self to a smoother ride.. As long as they dont put it in the 6, 3, or 1, then we're good. |

With that said, I would most likely do it. These Fs don't sell well, I live in the bay area and I have only seen 1, probably 2. Seen more Audi R8 than IS-F. |

wow lot's of IS-F haters here. I'm no fanboy myself but the car does look stunning in certain colors (such as black). I'd say for 48 or 49k it's a really good deal and the mileage is fairly decent. It would earn you a small amount of exclusivity despite the fake tailpipes.

It's a good deal for what it's worth. However, the Yamaha tuned engine is due for an overhaul because it failed to live up to the expectations as an M or AMG contender. Also, it's a bit more exclusive than the 335i (maybe even the M3).
Throw some JDM Carlsson interior mods and wheels on, you got one sexy looking car. http://www.carlsson.co.jp/002product.../parts_is.html

I have to say, I spent about three days with one a month ago.
I would be in a true tough spot if given the choice between an IS-F and my 335i. The IS-F definitely has a better seat, but the instrument cluster is up for debate. If you don't like iDrive, then the Levinson system in the Lex is a little easier to use, but not a whole lot; plus I hate the fact that the touch screen gets COVERED in fingerprints with minimal use. I did like the back up camera though. Stereos are very similar (Logic7 to Levinson) Drive feel, the Lex "feels" a LOT heavier, but also more secure at its limits and the exhaust note above 3200 is truly musical. That being said, I feel like my 335 is a lot easier to live with, easier to "throw" around, gets better gas mileage, does not cause every little boy in a Honda to drive like an idiot around me, and might actually be a little quicker (low end) with minimal modification. Not that I have any modifications... Just Saying.

In a heartbeat. I'd take the money I saved and get a proper exhaust/bumper cover combo though. That fake shit drives me nuts. The car is batshit fast and damn good looking too....
A lot of haters here just hating on a badge. Have you ever driven one? I cross shopped the IS-F here in Naperville when they had a plethora of them on the lot, and they just wouldn't come down on the price. If they had offered it for that when I was there, I probably would have taken it over the 335. Call me a douche or whatever you prefer, but the service and hospitality I've felt at that dealership with the wife's Lexuses makes my BMW dealership look like a bunch of broke ass dickholes. Not only that, but I feel a lot more comfortable with the Lexus' reliability potential and the welcomeness of the cabin. Also, the Mark Levinson system takes the Logic7 behind the woodshed if you're an audiophile. To me, the IS-F retained all the good things about it being a Lexus, while throwing in just enough sportiness and naughtiness.... I love my 335, but if the IS-F was a direct competitor, I'd take the Lexus. That $49k they're asking for is less than the MSRP of my car by a couple grand. It's a helluva deal. |

That 49k price tag really makes the IS-F quite enticing (over a 335i). Despite the slush box, its quite a decent drive (I did the IS-F event last year). It would be hard for me to say 'no' if I were in the position, to be honest.

Sorry, off the topic a little...
I test drove the C63 and ISF this past weekend. C63, first. I love the seats, they are very bolstered and keep you snug tight. So much torque and when you mash the peddle it goes, not like my 335 (even though it has only a slight lag). The engine sounds great and it handled better than I thought it would. I was very impressed with the car. I then test drove the ISF, seats are pretty comfortable, love the navi and touch screen but yes it does get dirty w/ fingerprints. Back up camera is a plus as well. It's a nice quiet ride when you're just cruising, but as soon as you hit the throttle and the 2nd intake opens up sounds great! The suspension felt a little more harsh than the C63. Handling and steering felt on par w/ the C63. It was hard to tell since I wasn't really taking corners aggressively with both cars. All-in-all I'd honestly rather take the C63 or ISF over the 335 anyday especially at $48k. It's a hard choice between the 2. If you're concerned with reliability I'd go w/ the ISF. I think the AMG will depreciate a lot faster too. It's a hard decision, you have to weigh out what's most important to you.
