When viewing car websites, what color scheme is the best??
I am trying to figure out what colors people prefer when looking at a website page.
I currently have something in the works and need some help as to what you guys think I was thinking a silver/black/white but that seems boring. What do you guys think?

silver, white and black are good
also...lighter hues of any color works well too. i hate sites that just blare bright solid colors in your face...

Ok, ok, I guess you want something resembling a real answer.
Disclaimer: I am not a web designer and I have no idea what a color wheel is. Given all that, I would stick to the greys and light blue hues. This way, the background will not overwhelm the colors of the cars. Many sites just do plain black and that works too. Good luck with your endeavor. |

I actually own a small design studio and you should stay away from doing any sort of reverse print. Statistics show that people hate it. Not everyone, but most.
Monochromatic would be good for a website dedicated to showcasing something, anything. Stick with gray/white/black accents or accents of another color, but just nothing too overwhelming that will detract from the "hero" of the page. Also, most of the time, the color scheme is chosen in keeping with the continuity of the brand identity and company color dress. So, if you've already developed an identity, stick with it. You don't want your brand consistency to be.....well.....inconsistent. Good luck. P.S. - Stick with HTML, flash is so three years ago, and people don't want all that fancy stuff anymore. They want to get to the point, and get there easily and quickly.

Black/White/Silver/Red/Carbon Fiber
Use any combination of those.

Thanks guys...Im going to be coming back to this board with questions as to how to make the site better. Then of course will post the site up. I hope it will attract people. I guess time will tell.

Forgot to say that the CURRENT (web) design trends are white/simplistic/clean/easy navigation. Not the grungy/abstract stuff any more. Trick is to make it clean while maintaining individuality. My 4 year old site (not the golf balls, but that's also an example of a cumbersome hard to navigate site) from when I was barely a graduate is the perfect example of what NOT to do. Good thing is, we've been too busy to update it.
PEACE!
