Y-Cable and iPhone

Planing on getting the Y-Cable for the car along with an iPhone.

The purpose is to use the phone as an MP3 player attached to the cable and controlled via the radio buttons.

Secondary, as phone. Maybe blue tooth or via cable. Don't now much of how with this setup.

Has anyone experience the 2 functions in the car?

I know about the 'echo' issue from previous postings. Not sure if it has been fixed yet.

And this will be the 3rd gen.

Any suggestions are welcomed.

Use my iPhone as both phone (bluetooth) and mp3 player (y-cable.) You cannot use the phone via the cable, only Bluetooth.

Anyway, it works great. There are some quirks but nothing that can't be solved by unplugging, starting the song you want on the iPhone and plugging back in.
