never again
hello,
new here... anyway, where do i start? seriously you bmw owners must be on serious drugs to appreciate a marque that is as exciting as watching a duck cross the road... [] friends tell me buy a bmw best car ever. yeah right! what a joke! its been 2 years of hell owning a 3 series. [thumbd] within weeks of purchase i was bored with the looks, the drive, the style. (my god what have i purchased?) i traded the alfa 147 for the beemer and within days of driving the bmw i wanted the 147 back. i have now traded the 3 series for an alfa 159 ti. believe me the alfa is one hot beauty. i cannot stop looking at the 159, those stunning front lights, amazing. the interior is so sexy italian. (styling the german car manufacturers will never match.) last but not least the drive is sooo bloody awesome i cannot stop smiling. [] all i can say is get out of your follow the crowd, mundane cars, and test drive an alfa. your sex life will improve too... [] |

I'd have an Alfa too if there was a US version available. However, to be fair and honest the Alfa is no super performer in similar price brackets. Nonetheless, once you go Italian, it's hard to go back to mundane country X products again.
Yeah, the 3er is boring as hell. Great car for a boring human though. Ultimately you should be kicking yourself more than kicking BMW. Does Australia get the Audi S3? If so, you can kick yourself some more...

don't get me wrong i like german cars but they really are over priced... the alfa 159 with all the fruit is 55k drive away in aus compared to audi/bmw/merc your looking at the 80k mark. thats the reason i went back to alfa. great looking car and very well priced. sure it lacks in the performance dept but for every day use the 159 is fine... the problem i had with the 3 series was they had become very common and had lost that enthusiast appeal for me, thats all... not a fan of the new bmw designs - too bloody conservative for my likings. |

Alfa's are all style and lack performance, they also fall apart quickly as you will surely know by now. Good luck with your rust heap.

really? 65,000km and the 159 is still going strong... sorry, but build quality and reliability on the new generation alfas are as good as the competition. i must say did over 90,000km on the 3 series and apart from a few niggles no problems at all - the beemer was very reliable.. |
