Toronto International Autoshow

Just got a sneak preview today of the cars at the autoshow at the MTCC today. Some pretty cool stuff, although I don't think anyone will be blown away by the BMW offerings. I think Audi came out the strongest this year. Biggest disappointment to me was Jaguar.

Anyway, since this is a BMW board, I'll give those of you who might be going on Saturday when it opens to the public a heads up on what's in there at the BMW booth:

- Crimson Red 128i Coupe
- Sort of a silvery E82 Cabriolet (didn't really check it out much)
- Two of the new BMW 7 Series, including a BMW Individual 7 Series with champagne merino leather interior (very nice) and a blackish-brown exterior (not so nice but not terrible)
- A 3 Series with the M-Sport package. I was a little annoyed by this because they kept talking about how everyone wants M/// branding so they decided to put more of it in non-M cars. The focus was more on putting the brand in the car than improving the performance to meet that of an M.
- A smallish EfficientDynamics section, consisting of.. if i recall correctly... a 3 series diesel, an X3 diesel and I think a 7 series concept activehybrid. Don't quote me on that
- And of course, the new Z4 Roadster in that metallic blue color (I think it's Montego Blue). Again not too impressed with this. I couldn't help but think that the dashboard was not even close to being as nice as the 1er. However, the hard-top fold-in was very pretty to watch, much like the Ferrari California.

In terms of other BMW brands, the new MINI Convertible is out ... and there is a Rolls Royce chilling over near the Lambos which looks daammn hot.

BTW, for anyone who is anal about car detailing, stay away from the Ford Escalade. Holy CRAP is that thing swirled up and fuzzy on the paint.

I do have pics and will post some later if any are interested.

Yah, I'm going Saturday with the Mrs.
I'm looking to replace my 9-2X.
I may have to consider the new 2010 Caddy SRX to help the domestic auto industry.

Kool thanks for the post. I'll probably be down on Sunday with family and one more time with some friends on another day.

From what I can tell before reading ur post, the only things I want to see from BMW would be the Z4, 7series and that's pretty much it haha.

Audi has my attention with the S4 (non-cabriolet) TTS and Q5. And who can forget the beefed up R8.

jotapeh, was there the MacLaren Sterling there? I doubt it but just want to be sure.

I was only in the South building, but no, I did not see anything from McLaren Automotive.

The Audi TTS is a hilarious creamsicle color, you can't miss it

Wow, no MacLaren car on display, that's horrid.

Ya Audi seems to be using the Orange as their main release colour for the TTS. Most ppl aren't choosing that colour for the car tho as you can imagine haha.

That's a really ugly orange on the TT. And, BTW, a 1 vert is an E88. An E82 is the coupe.

Don't be hating on the TTS. They had a total of 3 around the autoshow. The Glow Orange, Ibis White and something Blue. I'd much rather see the Meteor Grey and Phantom Black tho.......

Hey Jotapeh, which companies do you think brought the most stuff out for the ppl this year?

Nothing wrong with the TTS. It's a great car. It's just that horrible orange.

Agreed tho, the orange just isn't really cutting it. It is half decent and I'm sure it would grab everyone's attention if you were to drive it around.
