Issues with Airbag Sensor malfunctioning
Hi Fellow 1ers,
Recently i had to bring my 135i in due to a malfunction with the airbag sensor, specifically the sensor mat under the front passenger seat. It's the mat that detects if someone is sitting there. For whatever reason it had an issue and set off the airbag failure alarm on the instrument panel. Has anyone experienced a similar issue with their car? |

Nope, not me. First I've heard of something like that but if they can fix it easily it would seem it's not a big deal.

Yeah, happened to me the other day. Took my car in this morning and got it back this afternoon. They said it was a one-time thing and just re-set the computer. Hopefully that's what happened to you.

That's what they say all the time...
Mine has come on FOUR times already. Right now I have 4 fucking lights on my dashboard seatbelts, airbags (the light and the computer screen), handbrake. Chances are the airbag isn't even working when the light is on so out of the six months I've had the vehicle, four of the six months I'm driving without an airbag. To say the least that's a pretty awesome lemon I bought. The handbrake light is quite comical to say the least, I picked up the car at the dealer after getting the airbag light fixed for the 3rd time, the instant I put in my keys the service light is on and the handbrake light is on. DO NOT VISIT BAVARIA BMW in Edmonton.

Your hand-brake light is two-fold, in so much as it shows that a) your hand-brake is applied, or b) your brake reservoir is low on fluid (typically a sign that your brake pads are wearing down and that more fluid is residing in the calipers). Have you checked your fluid level?
