Got a rock chip on my windshield yesterday on the Gardiner
Loud crack and I thought "oh shit" Less than a dollar size hit but unreparable according to the glass guys.
Having the windshield replaced tomorrow morning. Pressed the insurance company to use BMW OEM glass and they're covering it. Thank god. I am finally getting to the point where I'm not so attached to my baby, as long as everyone is safe. The girl in my passenger side was shocked by the pebble/rock and I'm grateful she wasn't hurt. That's what matters! |

I had a similar experience with my Z4 back in 2003.
Fortunately the spider web crack was less than a quarter in diameter, so I was able to get it fixed through Apple Auto Glass for about $50. BMW windshields appear to be made of the finest Bohemian crystal and break just as easily. I just stay way the hell back from any truck - particularly in the wintertime.

1HungryMan,
Who is your insurance company? It's good to know. I hope the car doesn't become a bore. Maybe it's time for a Dinan Tune? EspressoBoy PS I always like your posts. And btw, I don't know if you heard it lately, you have very good taste in cars! Remember it's snowing soon... so cars are not easy to enjoy in winter times.... Maybe we all should arrange a ski meet or a billiard night. |
