Comparison of 135i 'vert with E46 M3 'vert?
Hi all,
I've been lurking and reading the informative posts on this forum for a little while - I am thinking of swapping the wife's 535d for a more "fun" car, and the 135i Convertible, 335i Convertible and M3 Convertible were all on my list. I eliminated the 335i since we don't need the space (it's meant to be a fun car, and we already have an X5!) and we may be moving abroad in the next 1-2 years so I didn't want to sign up for an M3 (along with s*** load of depreciation over such a short period). So that left me looking at the 135i convertible and its competitors - but I read a few owners here have had the E46 M3 in the past, which is one of my favourite cars of all time - has anyone got views/opinions that'll help my decision making? I haven't yet driven the 135i convertible - my local stealer is still trying to get hold of a demonstrator. Cheers, Jeroen

When I was shopping for my car the dealer had an E46 M3 on the lot, listed for the same price as a new 135i vert. I picked the 1 for a few reasons: New car (M3 had 40k miles), pick my own options/color etc, I like the engine in the 135 (turbo is easier to make faster), I didn't like the back seat of the M3 for my dogs (too bucketed seats)
It always comes down to which one you prefer. Hopefully they'll find you a 135 to drive. |
