Comfort Access washing your car
Ok,
So last night once we got past the 95 degree temps (at 8:30pm), I decided to was my car (first time doing it myself). I noticed anytime water got anywhere near door handles it'd toggle lock state of the car (if it was locked, it unlocked, and vice versa). Is this to be expected? Is there anyway other than putting keyfob in the house or something I can prevent this? Thanks in advance |

Good opportunity to put the fob in the dash and charge it up?
Has anyone actually confirmed whether comfort access fobs charge in the dash? Or do we really have to physically change the battery?

CA FOB's do not contain rechargeable batteries, the battery must be replaced when depleted.

That's very lame. Can't believe that BMW produced one fob that recharges and one that doesn't. Regardless of whether the CA fob uses more power than non-CA how hard can it be?

Batteries are covered by maintenance.
The whole point of the non-rechargeable batteries is that the CA fob will probably never be used in the car, so it will never have a chance to charge. |

i had a 2006 330xi and it had to be charged in the dash, you could tell to, because the signal would start to go after maybe a week, so every so often you would have to start the car up with the fob and drive around with it to recharge the battery, no unless they completely changed that in 2 years, i would assume that it would have to be recharged
