To the Comfort Access Drivers...
Are you becoming as sickened as I am by your house? After a hard day at work my car welcomes me in, but my damn selfish house refuses to open the door unless I fumble around to find these archaic metal shapes in my pocket to rotate a complex system of rusting tumblers.
Getting into my house is such a chore now, I'm considering living in my car. (In all honesty, I have on several occasions, tried to walk through the front door, almost banged my head and then been baffled what I'm doing wrong for a few seconds before that "oh yeah" moment when I reach for the keys) |

Absofriggin lootley. It is such a pain in the A to fiddle around in your pockets for a key. Often, I'll go to the boot and pull out two bags. Both hands full, get to door. Bugger! Wife getting a bit pissed off with me ringing the doorbell to get in. All of a sudden I get (dis)Comfort Access.

LOL. I had the same thought. I pulled up to the house and was fumbling for the thing-a-ma-jig that would automatically open the door for me. The house is so old school!

Just a few days ago I was thinking about how nice it'll be to not have to deal with keys anymore. I was about to look into getting some sort of touchpad doorknob for my place.
I will admit there have been occasions I've gotten home tired and grumpy and have tried to use the remote to open the house! Oh, how nice it would be to not even have to do that... |

Whats wrong with keys? Personally one of my nit-pick things about the new BMW's is their insistance on using key fobs. I want to put a key in and turn it to fire up my engine. I don't want to press a friggen button.

YEP....I've gotten into my 4-Runner a couple of times with the key in my pocket...secured myself into the seatbelt...and tried to start the engine, only to find that I have to unlatch the seatbelt to get the keys out of my pocket to start the car. What an impossition..it's just not right.
Love the CA in the 135, but it sure makes life difficult without it.

I just got back from my ED and it's such a pain in the ass to drive my other car. I'll reach in to my pockets to unlock the car with the remote, but forget to take my keys out of my pocket. I sit down and go to push the button before realizing there's no button. I want my 135i back

Comfort Access has ruined me! I seem to be fine when starting my girlfriend's car, but I always reach for a non-existant button to shut it off. I will eventaully put a dent in the dashboard that will lower its resale value!

amy! p.s., it really is a pain, too - you have to have that remote in your hand to open the doors on the rental car, so it just makes sense to reach forward and put it in the dash. But no, you have to manipulate the keyring so that an actual key is in your hand to put into the ignition. Oh, the burden! |

For those of you who have your 1er and CA just wait until you are away from your car for awhile and find yourself confused on why the car won't start. Then you look for the keys after you realize it is not a start button in that car and then realize you left the keys in your pocket...

That's what I do. I could ditch my house keys altogether if I wanted, but I've gotten used to having some keys in my pocket so they stay there. Still I want as little on that key ring as possible. My last car was a TL with a fob and a key with a big rubber thing on it. They wouldn't fit up nicely together unless the ring was real big. Just annoying.

Ill be getting the '1' keychain to keep my fob company, just as I had the '5' keychain for when I was driving a 5. I'll still have some keys on it as well because I need them for work, or I wouldn't be able to go anywhere I want in the facility
