New owner new questions
Hi guys, newbie to the forum, but just purchased a lovely 2007 530i and had a few questions I was hoping you might be able to help with:
1. with new struts, will the boot fully open when unlocking with the key? I have small kids and that would be a huge benefit, but don't want to invest if not possible. 2. the large panoramic sunroof tilts but doesn't go back, is it worth trying to fix yourself, or better to let a specialist look at it? Assume it's the motor, but not sure how big a job that is. 3. I have a service light for the rear right reverse light, I changed the bulb, light remained on, then I realised if I open the boot with the engine running 3 further issues present themselves (left number plate light, right number plate light, right rear fog light) - assume this is due to dodgy wiring, but can't find where the wiring runs - any help greatly appreciated. |

I'm guessing you have a wagon by the pano roof comment; Wagons came with the power tail gate in North America and was most likely an option elsewhere. power is retrofittable but its a big job.
The pano roof is a pain in general; you talking about the front or rear glass? wagons have an issue with rear wiring as they break in the body for the rear hatch; Look into it |

Electric boot? Yes, it will.
Most likely a motor issue on the roof or a rail that`s not in correct position. Wiring to the boot, and mainly the back window cables are a nightmare. |
