My Philly car show review
well i visited the car show today and came out of it with some interesting points of view and opinions. Some surprising and some pretty obvious. First off the BMW display was pathetic!
 Very few cars, of course no 135, no M3, no 335xi's, no alpinas, no M6, NOTHING. The X6 was the best part about it. But i would still take a cayenne over it. Anyway, the poor 128 cab display was horrible. The color, platform and point of view was all bad. For a brand new US model, they sure did a good job of downplaying the 1 series. The Hyundai Genesis had a better display!!! I stood at the 1er for about 5 minutes and maybe a total of 4 people stopped to check it out. the color almost camouflaged into the background and the carpeting. I really cant believe BMW would not put more effort into this. I told one of those uneducated BMW reps that this was a major disappointment!  This was one of the first times for the northeast to see the 1er before launch!! Unbelievable. Anyway, after getting all worked up about that i took my time around the rest of the show which was pretty badass!! Best display had to be Porsche or Audi. I was most impressed with the Audi TT Coupe, audi A5, audi R8, Nissan GT-R (not for 80 grand though), EVO, the entire badass mini display, porsche C4S, MB display I was turned off with the Infiniti G37, mini clubman, 128 Cab, STI (not for 38 grand), and the other usual crap.... So in summary great show, BUT, if you are going to see the 1er... DON'T GO. The 128i cab looks bad in my opinion. It will just let you down. A 2.0 audi TT cab blows away the 1er cab in my opinion! Looks like a chick car. The X6 is pretty impressive, but for the rumored 80 grand plus tag i will pass and get a range sport or cayenne. the lex IS-F was also great looking but i think the price tag is wrong and im no sure what crowd the car is going to be attracting. The Infiniti EX looks like the FX knocked up the G sedan and this was the runt of the litter. UGLY! If i had 124 g's i would buy the R8 without the blink of an eye....stunning  . And finally.....the TT coupe was the car that most impressed me..... I had posted a poll about why we are buying the 1er and it was an overwhelming performance choice. Well, since performance is like number two maybe even number 3 for me, other cars such as the 200hp TT really stuck out to me. The styling, the fit and finish and overall vibe it gave off was very impressive. so with the bad taste of the 1er cab still in my mouth and the line to wait in to sit in the TT ....it really....well lets just say i felt the need to cheat  maybe if i was considering the 128 coupe i would highly consider the TT now, but with the 135 as my future ride i dont know if the TT made me swing that much. The STI and EVO definitely did NOT! thanks for reading....here are a few of my 150 pics....if you have a request im sure i have the pic.... :drinking: |
