Exclamation BMW M3 Sedan and coupe pricing!!!!!

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=107142

M3 E92 coupe: $57,275
M3 E90 sedan : $54,575

I'll bet Lexus and Caddy is PISSED thinking they would undercut BMW with pricing. So many people on various forums thought the M3 would start out in the low to mid 60s..haha. BMW aint stupid...thank god.

Hmmm. $54k? I thought it would be more than that. I wonder how many of us loading up a 135i will now think twice.

I'd certainly find it hard to buy a 335i and not consider the M3 now.

Yup and by then the trade in on a 135 won't be that bad especially if you are stepping up to a 4 door m3

I am glad no one is complaining about the price like they did when the 135 came out. That is a lot of car for the money and I am happy/surprised they could keep the coupe under 60k. It may in fact be too much car for my skill level, guess i would just have to go to the m driving school.

The sedan at $54K! Wow! That is definately one that I can shoot for. What was the list for the prevous gen M3? $51 - 53K? Not much of a jump considering the advancement in the car overall.

That pricing is just outstanding. BMW won't be able to build them fast enough.

Base-base on the E46 was $48k and some change IIRC. Pretty much $50k if you wanted it delivered, and with paint on it.

I think they did a good job holding the price to reasonable levels. Tip of the hat to BMW.

Yeah^^^ BMW really could not screw this up. The M3 is the soul of the BMW franchise. Ask a 15yr old what an M3 is and they will tell you. They might not know exactly why they like it but they know what it is.

M3: 295 foot-pounds of torque at 3000 RPM (3900 RPM?)
135: 295 foot-pounds of torque at 1300 RPM

2 questions (a bit of Devil's Advocate, a bit of ignorance):
Which would be more fun to drive?
Why dish out the extra 20k for an M3?

The experience is very different. The M3 will be ALOT more fun. I drive a car that is a 4cylinder that redlines at 8200rpms. The M has 4 more cylinders at redlines at 8400rpms. Getting there is soooo much fun in my car. Its got 162lbs of torque and its still feels great.

Plus: that 296lb of torque gets that sucker to 60 in 4.1 seconds. Says RoadandTrack at least...DAMN.

Like the sign says... at 8400rpm you'll find the answer to your first question.

I dont have 20K more to dish out for an M3 but if I did, I might buy one. I can barely afford a 135 as it is!
