Wheel refinish question

I have a set of 599's that I've taken off and gone with 20's.

I was going to find a set of 21 inch snows to put on for really bad snow situations, but have decided to go 19's or 20's.

So, I have a set of wheels I'll need to sell. One of the fronts has a very slight bend in the outer rim. You don't feel it in the car and depending on how the wheel is positioned, you don't see it either. As luck would have it, my wife managed to curb the wheel just before I swapped out for the new wheels.

And here is the question. Should I sell the wheels as is and let the new owner take care of repairing the wheel. Of course at a discounted price. Or, have the wheel repaired and ask more for the wheels.

And, since I'm asking questions..... what is a set of 599's worth?

I believe there are a few wheel repair places in OH, with good reviews. Not sure about PA, but search.. I would contact them and get quotes to refinish, or exchange the wheel.

My personal opinion is that if I buy something I need to repair, I'm taking a risk, and will only pay pennies on the dollar.
Maybe post a picture of the damage, and it will be easier to judge it. Someone might be interested in throwing you an offer as is.

You could also sell one at a time online, since your wife is likely not the only one who has curbed a wheel, and would like to replace a damaged one. Will be more work, but maybe best return on the money..

Then keep the damaged one, cut off the barrel, and hang the front on a wall in the garage.
Add a clock in the middle, tell your wife it is "garage art", while subconsciously reminding her to try to not curb anymore wheels!

Hopefully someone else will chime in, when it comes to the value of them. I have no clue.

Sell them as-is. Only because they seem like they are machined faced, which will be 30-40% more than a regular painted wheel. I refinish a lot of wheels for customers and I tell them to do same thing with their old wheels.

It's going to be harder to sell "as-is" more likely to sell if the buyer doesn't have to do anything but mount them.

If I were the buyer, I'd want no issues although I know a great place that can fix any type or finish of wheel. Most buyers would use the imperfection to lower the sales price. So, I'd fix it before offering for sale for the peace of mind.

I'm much less likely to buy something needing repair if I can't do the repair myself and don't know who to trust to get the repair done right, and how much it's going to cost. All of which would apply in this particular case. Just my $.02.
