Another Mpe Problem?

I did ED for an F80 in April. I knew I had to have the MPE after hearing the clips and one in Germany in person. Defintely my favorite feature of the car now. It has the most unique sound and she screams! I bought this exhaust fully knowing about all of the cracking issues others have been having. Ive even made my dealer aware of it as I am their first and only m3 owner and ED customer. And yes this exhaust is worth EVERY penny. So I need a bit of help. I noticed a small pool of condensation and oil under the car the other day, I have also noticed oily residue on the outside of the exhaust. I check the oil, seems to be fine. What is going on with this thing?? Looks like a weld is now leaking. I appreciate any help with this. The pictures are the two pdf files in a reply message to this. Thanks-

Looks to be coming from the steel midpipe instead of the usual spots on the titanium muffler.

I wouldn't worry too much, just get that spot welded

The leak could be from anywhere. Believe me, it's not from the exhaust.

Engine oil from the exhaust doesn't seem right, it's probably coming from somewhere on the engine onto the exhaust.

I got a differential leak which is towards the rear but not from the exhaust. Its the only oily liquid in the rear of the car. However it happned during the 1200 service and the tech forgot to use a new screw and used the same one. Since your car is pretty much new not sure about the screw dripping, but its the most logical culprit since oil drips from the front won't splatter or hit the exhaust when driving all the way to the mpe. The tragic part is there is no sensor for the differential oil so next time you drive check where the drip is coming and how much is on the ground. Condensation I get only from the AC but thats the front and wasnt close to each other at all unless you park on a hill. Let us know, don't blame our exhausts! It gets enough hate already from the price and cracks haha. Holla

I?m really impressed how people are still buying that exhaust even after they read about cracks and all. Must sound impressive. Unfortunately I didn?t hear it in person yet.
Why don?t vendors like IND source out GTS exhaust system? Could be similar price and crack-proof muffler.i

because once you hear it in person, you don't care about anything and nothing else would impress you...it's the most fun thing about the car to be honest...gives you joy every ride, every acceleration, every downshift.... and those burbles from the competition pack are magnified and much louder...

Because BMW fan boys...lol

It's sounds OK for a S55 exhaust, very hard to make the S55 sounding nice.

Remus and AC SCHNITZER is my favorite so far. Can't go wrong with both. Sounds amazing and cost less. Nice sounding exhaust except the cold start.

AC Schnitzer is just deeper but the MPE blows it out of the water when it comes to loudness

The GTS exhaust is pretty much the same as the MPE with welded on tips...

And this is what you don't get! Remove your can if you want just loud.
MPE is loud but Remus sounds better and is more aggressive.

It's not just about loud....

And btw.... REMUS non resonated is louder then MPE.

But anyway. Most important is yourself enjoying the MPE.

Oil in the exhaust system can from come a leaky turbo. A seal on the exhaust side of the turbo could be leaking.
It could also come from a valve, but then you'd see smoke too.

I've wondered this same question too. Sure under warranty it gets replaced, but it's still the hassle of dropping it off and waiting for the new one. I can't imagine people would recommend and gush over this exhaust cracking if it was any other manufacturer. Akra is recommend because craftsmanship and sound justify the price, but this exhaust is loved because of sound despite shitty craftsmanship. Just seems so strange to me, but people love it.

yes I've listened to many M4 GTS Exhaust clips and they sound exactly the same as my MPE on my M4 ZCP

They’re getting warranty with the exhaust so no worries maybe?

It's not much of a hassle at all. Get the dealer to order a replacement MPE and get the cracked one replaced at the next service. It's not like the car is no longer functional due to the cracks in the exhaust and the cracks do not even make much difference in the sound.

I agree, the fact that I get buy groceries and come home to raw oil oil lining the outside of the exhausts is a red flag

I did have the exhaust installed when I had the 1200 mile service completed but it still doesn't explain why there is light to moderate raw oil on inside and outside of the exhaust. To me that a red flag. Tomorrow she goes to the dealer to try and have this resolved and I will be sure to let you guys know of the outcome. Thanks for your help!
