Eisenmann Exhaust Install

Hey guys, I just got the Einsenmann Resonated full exhaust installed.

I swapped from the AWE exhaust, not from stock.

We couldn't get the valves to work yet on the Eisenmann b/c it needs the valve springs from the stock exhaust.

I just got home, and I'm looking at my stock exhaust. It has what I believe is needed.

Does anyone know how to take it off?

Appreciate the input

The exhaust should have came with the install guide on how to swap it over. If not then PM me your email address and we can send it.

update:

After looking at the official instructions and seeing what's there, I think I'm missing a very small piece of metal that the spring goes around. Any ideas?

It's referring to two pieces that came with the exhaust it's not from the stock exhaust. they look like curved paper clips. They basically act as a bridge between the new valve and the stock actuator , they are in the install instructions on the USB shaped like a key.

can you do me a favor once you get these connected can you take a picture of your exhaust valves in the "open" position (both sides) please, I want to compare it to mine, because they are not equal on both sides on mine in terms of the degree in which they are open.

Yeah I definitely will, but first I need to find those bow fixings. P/0 didn't give them to me, but he was the original owner, so hopefully they turn up

If anyone knows where to get replacements, that would be helpful too

The fixing bow is actually an OEM BMW part and can be picked up at any dealer. Part number is 18 30 7 620 323.

It looks like this this. You will need two.

Nice looks

Do you know if I still need to transfer the spring from the stock exhaust?

What car is that for ? Our stock exhaust doesn't use that piece.

I don't think so the instructions don't mention that step, but maybe IND can correct me if I'm wrong.

No that fixing box basically wedges between the exhaust valve and valve motor. You'll see an indent for the bow to fix on to on the exhaust and valve motor. In addition to turning the flaps, it acts as a spring between the motor and valve to create pressure so the valve doesn't rattle.

It's for the current gen X5M/X6M I believe. PN has been verified by IND (I had this exact issue with my exhaust)

Can this thing fall out? Can this be the source of various exhaust rattles that people are reporting around here?

This piece is from a X6. It's not standard on our cars. The Eisenmann is the only exhaust I know of that uses this clip (I've had almost every exhaust made our cars including the Akrapovic, Dinan, AWE, MPE, Remus, IPE, and Magnaflow)

Alright, the install went successful!

Now my first impressions on the Eisenmann:

Flow is definitely there, but the way it handles rasp and drone is very civil. Downpipes are a great addition to this IMO, Resonated exhausts are too quiet with stock downpipes

mind to share your opinions for other exhausts you have tried?

If you have ZCP, you can't go wrong with MPE or AWE they're both great. IPE is loud but sounds aggressive (not good with downpipes). Remus is drony with valves closed, similar to IPE w/ valves open (Aggressive). Akrapovic EVO, Eisenmann Full, and Dinan with the Remus Resonated Midpipe were all similar (quiet with valves closed, sound amazing with valves open, can pair well with downpipes). Magnaflow was very good on the low end, doesn't sound great on WOT.

Don't think it can fall out that easily. It was the source of valve rattles on my Eisenmann exhaust (don't think any other exhaust uses these fixing bows). I had a lot of rattling under load, what i did was bend the bow outwards a bit so it would create more pressure, valve rattle hasn't happened since.
