Pops, Burbles, Crackles. JB4 vs Hex

My car came with catless downpipes and catless midpipes. The exhaust is stock. I like to hear pops, burbles, and crackles. The car does them on occasion with the current set up. However I want more. Will a JB4 provide more? I know a hex tune will but I can't resell a hex tune but a JB4 I can. I don't necessarily need an obnoxious amount of burbles either.
Does anyone have a setup with stock exhaust, catless downpipes/midpipes with a jb4 that can chime in? or just general opinions from people would be great

You need a flash tune. HEX, BM3, etc. piggybacks like JB4, Dinnan, etc will not do what you are interested in.

You can resell your BM3 flash license.

Either way, a piggyback can't alter the tables for overrun. You'll need a flash tune for that. BM3 is your best option.

HEX is your best option for the most authentic sounding overrun.

^ What he said.

The Burbles, Crackles, & Pops on the BM3 are pretty wild. Dzenno and the team have really been knocking it out of the park.

We just flashed lewz4's car with BM3. The car crackles on shift, and burbles on deceleration.

Sounds awesome.... We'll post up a clip soon!

For BM3 flash tune do you need to get your car tuned somewhere specific? Or is it possible to do it yourself?

Yes sir!

That would be because we employ the same calibration strategies as used on
the factory ZCP/GTS models from BMW. The only difference from car to car
will be the specific tone/volume based on the different downpipe/exhaust
combinations that people chose for their own vehicle.

We were the first company to offer the authentic GTS features for the M3/M4,
which gained popularity to the point where it because the most requested
feature/upgrade for the BMW tuning market, and to the extent that nearly
every flash tune now offers a "similar" set of features.

We've since added it to all of our F-series applications, from BMW (N55)
2/3/4-series
to the BMW (S63Tu) M5/M5 X5M/X6M;

Contact Bootmod3/PTF to see if there is a dealer in your area.

Bootmod3 and ESS Flash are the ones we recommend, and make consistent power on the dyno.

Looking forward to it. Normal around town driving sounds are what I'm interested in. "what will my neighbors hear?"

Are you not a fan of Rice Krispies treats?

honestly I love the freakin burbles. Stock ZCP sounds the absolute best compared to anything else.

do you think that bmw will ever offer a tune for non zcp to add the burbles? the 3 series has the m performance sound package that adds the bubbles via exhaust and tune.

A GTR in NY lit on fire recently from getting too crazy with the "pops and bangs flamethrower" maps so the turners are starting to neuter them.

I take it you can choose how aggressive of a tune you want to have when you do this? And the flash tune, even if you just wanted the sound (no power tweaks), voids any warranty you have?

Correct we have full control over the burble maps and can spec it to the customers wishes.

So far i'm leaning towards the Hex tune because the bootmod3 overrun sounds like gunshots/fireworks versus the Hex's more natural sound. However both tunes are good quality, it's all about what sounds better to you at the end of the day.

BM3's overrun can be changed if need be, especially if you spring for the custom tune option when it's available. HEX cannot be changed.

Also, if you do go HEX and ever decide to go with BM3 in the future, you won't be able to as you'll loose your original 4MB file needed to move to BM3, unless VF is now supplying people with this file.
