I saw your post and the price is amazing. If I didn't have the MPE I'd buy yours.

The mpe does come with a stainless steel midpipe, it might be as wide as a stock one but one is provided. Thats why you need to cut and slip on the mpe midpipe. If it was just a muffler you wouldn't have to cut anything...You will need to weld the stock pipe to stock midpipe when going back to stock since the stock midpipe isn't longer for you to slip on. The mpe one also has a slit and flared a little to help it slip on. The reason for not much gains on a M exhaust regardless of company is because the stock one is fairly free flowing itself. Only if you get an AA midpipe which is wider and gets rid of the 2nd cats and resonator do you gain a good amount of hp and tq. If installed by dealer before you got the car you might not think there is a midpipe but bmw assumes the exhaust is now stock so doesn't give you your stock one back. Mine was installed after leasing the car so I have my stock one sitting in my living room! You can save a little if just the muffler but all mpe systems will come with midpipe. Check page 4 of the instruction manual below if you don't believe. Please have accurate information before posting or it will mislead people. Enjoy, the exhaust is awesome!

Also, when reverting back to stock a person can do so by using sleeves or clamps with no need to weld.

Yes its not a bolt on and from downpipe to where its cut is very little less than 2 feet or so...mid pipe or not just stating that it does come with something other than the muffler itself. Most just weld it since they are lease returns so extra clamps may stick out more. First ive heard of the cut style but probably used to lower the cost? More expensive to bolt it or maybe for use for m3 and m4 so they left the starting point of pipe universal for either application?
