Drive Malf/CEL on Misfires at WOT Logs included

Hey Guys,

2017 ZCP. Currently installed are Catless Downpipes and Drop in filters. ECU Unlocked but not tuned currently. Using BM3 to datalog.

Ok, so Driving onto the highway a couple days ago I floored it and drivetrain malfunction light came on and the car started sputtering. Turned the car off, restarted and all was fine. I decided to just go ahead and replace the plugs and Coils to see if it would do it again. Well it did it again this morning with all new coils and plugs installed. I went ahead and did some runs and got some datalogs of the event happening. Any input would be appreciated.

No, I don't wish to go to the dealer with this right now as I have been flagged on previous cars with downpipes and dont really feel like removing them right now. If the problem ends up not being to serious i would rather just pay to fix it. You have to pay to play anyways, so im not worried about that.

Thanks in advance everyone!

What gear were these pulls in. Also, what fuel?

Did you scan for any codes?

What plugs are you using and what was the gap set at?

You're having massive misfire events. I'm also seeing a big disparity between each bank (1 and 2) in regards to STFT. You need to log LTFT 1/2 as well.

It's hard to say, because weird things happen during misfire events as the DME attempts to correct fuel trims from the erroneous AFR readings.

Do you have ISTA/D?

could it be a bad/cracked/mis gapped plug? I know those plugs are shitty and break a lot while torquing.

Could be. The stock plugs are terrible.

Are you planning on running more boost than stock? Run a set of NGK 97506 plugs gapped between .018-.020", depending on how much boost you're running.

I am waiting for Terry to have some in stock. I plan on running BM3 but obviously this popped up so I need to deal with this first.

Damn, this is the worst one I've seen and I've seen some bad ones, including my own experience with the stock s55 Bosch plug (5 out of 6 had cracked insulators and were blowing combustion gas up around the insulators).

The stock Bosch plugs are complete shit and your pictures prove my point exactly. I try tell people all the time, get rid of the stock Bosch plugs and go with the NGK 97506 gapped-down to .018-.020". Bosch isn't really known for making a great plug, NGK is king.

I've seen the stock Bosch plugs, on multiple occasions/cars, cause big problems like the misfires you were seeing.

Anyway, glad I could help!
