ESS Tuning F8x M3 / M4 Charge Pipes
We recently installed a set of the newly released ESS Tuning F8X M3 / M4 Charge pipes on our GTS Plus F82 M4. In both modified and stock applications, the F8X M3 / M4 OEM charge pipes can fail causing a significant loss in power. The ABS plastic used in the construction of them is durable, however with time and due to the high levels of boost that the S55 motor produces, they are constantly under stress. ESS Tuning's charge pipes are constructed from steel reinforced, five layer silicone. The silicone construction allows for ease of install, where the steel reinforcement provides rigidity that is at home with both stock, and higher boost levels. Included are billet CNC machined adapters that further improve upon the OEM ABS plastic design. The ESS charge pipes are slightly larger than the OEM counterpart, creating a need for the engine cover extension socket that is included. The engine cover socket raises the back of the S55 engine cover enough to accommodate for the larger outer diameter of the pipes, but not too much as to interfere with the underside of the hood when closed. The kit also includes a shorter, larger diameter 5 layer steel reinforced silicone hose. It's meant to replace the OEM all silicone hose that connects the end of the charge cooler to the curved pipe leading to the intake manifold. Charge Pipe Features: Steel reinforced Five layer silicone Billet CNC adapters Custom ESS engine cover extension socket Enjoy the photos of the charge pipes below!

Awesome.
I like silicone chargepipes, especially if you plan on changing plugs often as you'd not need to remove the chargepipes to get down to the plugs - you can just move them out of the way. What are the deets on that heat exchanger? |

Install is similar to other charge pipes, very straightforward. Should take less than 1 hour.
