Wheels spacers and wheel hub extenders!

Hey guys,

Looking to buy 5mm hubcentric slip on spacers to the front on my E82.

Would like to know if hub extenders are absolutely necessary?

My understanding is the front wheel hub lip is about 11mm high, so by adding 5mm spacers i should have a 6mm lip remaining for my wheels to seat.

Any thoughts?

It also depend on the hub bore on the wheel. Usually there's a chamfer on the hub bore, even oem wheels have it.

Have a read there. Look into Measuring Hub Lip

Personally, I tried 5mm on both front and rear of my e82 with my asa gt5 wheels (with hub rings) without any problem.

5mm spacers will be fine as-is. Used them on street and track without issue for years on this car.

Generally correct. You only run into issues with spacers that are 10mm and you need to do some careful measurements. 8mm spacers will leave almost zero lip so that's not recommended. 5 *should* be safe enough...
