2017 - 451 Wheels

Debating between a full winter wheel / snow tire setup and going with the 451's and swapping tires to the Continental DWS 06 all season and use full time. The idea is to put the summers back on prior to lease end.

Anyone done the same or have experience/opinions?

Thanks!

Running DWS 06's on 468's right now in our weekend snow storms. They are new but are doing really well for an all season so far. That said if I did it again I would put ice amd snow Pirellis but i do have 2 sets of rims. I believe for our standard usual winters you could get away with the Contis year round but as they wear not sure how well they would do lets say third season for example

I ran the first-gen DWS on a '14 F15 and found them excellent in snow, but a bit too soft... the DWS06 are greatly improved for SUV duty.

I am running them on my X5M and actually prefer them to the OEM P-Zeros. I have a dedicated winter set for the few times I head up north, but think the DWS06 are a more than capable four season tire. Surprisingly so. A pic of mine below and, if you haven't seen it before, the Continental video explaining some of their unique snow traction features.

Yes, I know it is an E70 (MY13) but I had the first gen DWS on 20 inch staggered 451's. I am putting the DWS06 on my new F15 when it arrives. Rode these year round. They worked well with X-drive and what a fun day blasting thru the snow. Proof of Conti DWS and 451 staggered in the snow.

These grooves are so nice, that Michelin basically straight off copied for their AS3+.
