Widest tire on 17 x 7 rim

My car came with the stock 205 / 50 /17 run flats. I'm looking forward to changing to non-run flats when the current tires are closer to worn. I know different tires have different width recommendations. I'm just looking for some input based on experience.

Thanks. That was what I was thinking, but, most 225's have a 7" min rim width. Is there much chance of losing the bead by being at the max for the rim?

I'm running 225/45/17 Michelin PS2 Runflats and they mount absolutely fine. On my second set. They were also listed at a 7" min rim width.

I'm also running 225/45 on the fronts. PSS. Fit great and protect the rim nicely.

This is good. I think 225 will be good enough.
While I have your attention: what pressures are you running?
