Was meaning to post this a few weeks ago. Close family member who works at a traffic law firm told me that Suffolk is cracking down on cell and speeding tickets, unsure about other traffic tickets. The new supervisor is a real hard ass and isn't negotiating tickets!!!

I'm not sure what exit on the LIE Suffolk starts but just a heads up. Spread the word!!

Thank you for the heads up. I've been debating about installing a laser jammer when my M4 get here. I think your post just made the decision for me.

No problem, I would suggest to get anything to pick up radars and lasers. Something is better than nothing.

I had a laser intercepter jammer on my last car (2011 335is). That thing saved my from thousands in traffic tickets and license points. Best Mod I spent on that car.

I wish, my V1 is too old. I have to admit, the beeping is getting annoying. I might upgrade.

I have an old V1 and I just ignore it and turn off the volume. The F'ing thing is going off every 2 secs. I've heard the "new" updated versions are much better

It honestly pisses me off because a lot of car manufacturers have the same systems that don't effect the V1. Audi probably knows this issue and ignores it. Probably a simple frequency fix.

I have a Antilaser priority quad laser jammer kit and use an escort max360 for radar protection on both my M3 and M6. Antilaser priority and a few others are the only ones that can jam the new guns some places use the Dragoneye and Dala. The Escort Max360 is good for radar as it learns false locations and blocks them out if you drive through certain areas frequently. This setup cost me for $1,175 (ALP Quad) and $600 (Max360) and I did self install. I have been saved me enough times to cover the costs.

I always wondered about effectiveness of the learning detectors. What happens when the police set up at a spot that has been 'learned'?

From my experience both laser and radar are currently being used on Long Island. It seems that the "newer" police vehicles are using laser and the older police units are stuck using radar. I had my last unit installed at detailing dynamics in the Mineola. Expensive but worth it. They always have Ferrari's and lambo's in there.

Alas, they can't afford it - "clean diesel" legals costs will supersede R&D for few years to come.

BTW, Chevy's do it too.
Luckily, the false signal drops off quickly as you put the distance between yourself and Audi/Chevy.
I lower the volume to barely audible, and just watch the bogey counter and subtract for each Audi/Chevy I'm passing.
